KATO Consultancy is a leading provider of practice development consultancy and fee acquisition and merger services to accountancy practices.  We believe that we are unique in having this niche focus and variety of service, and we have a well-established reputation in our market.

We will not act for any firm where we feel that we cannot add value to the business. We always confront issues in the most appropriately sensitive way, and our reputation is founded on finding the right solutions to practice issues and implementing them in a way that plays to partners’ strengths and improves the value of the business.

We use our extensive knowledge of the marketplace and its component firms, recognising that every situation will vary according to the people, the clients and the firm’s circumstances.  In this way we focus on the right solution, whether it be consultancy led, requires non-organic growth (merger, acquisition or sale) or a combination.

All KATO’s consultancy services are extremely pro-active and hands-on covering three main activity areas:

We have a high success rate for completing accountancy practice merger and fee acquisition transactions, and in keeping with our reputation, we always consider prospective assignments before accepting them and we only accept instructions where we believe that there is a realistic possibility of consummating a transaction.

KATO’s two directors, Phil Shohet and Andrew Jenner , are both well-founded in the accountancy profession and are leading practice consultants with a combined total of over 30 years advising firms throughout the UK and Ireland. They have a unique understanding of the problems and issues facing practitioners today and this enables them to create practical and innovative solutions that achieve dramatic results.
